Dupe Olusola, Managing Director/CEO of Transcorp Hotels Plc joined other owners of Hilton hotels brands, in Las Vegas, for the 2022 Global Hilton Owners Conference. The event which holds once every four years brings together owners of Hilton hotels from around the world to showcase all that is new at Hilton Worldwide, learn about new brands, discover cutting-edge innovations and map out the future of hospitality. The invitation-only event had over 2500 people from different parts of the world.
Dupe had sessions with Chris Nassetta, Hilton’s President and Chief Executive Officer of Hilton, and Simon Vincent, the company’s Executive Vice President & President Europe, Middle East & Africa. They discussed Transcorp Hilton Abuja’s impressive performance, as well as opportunities in the African travel and hospitality industry.

Transcorp Hilton Abuja, Transcorp Hotels Plc’s flagship property is Hilton’s first hotel in West Africa and one of its best-performing hotels in the region. For years, Transcorp Hilton Abuja has outperformed the industry average on all indices, ending 2021 with an occupancy of 67 percent, and the first nine months of 2022 at 78 percent. The hotel has won several international awards this year, including the World Travel Awards in five categories: Nigeria’s Leading Hotel, Nigeria’s Leading Business Hotel, Africa’s Leading Business Hotel, Nigeria’s Leading Hotel Suite-Presidential Suite, and Nigeria’s Leading City Hotel. The hotel also emerged winner of the 2022 World Luxury Hotel and Restaurant Awards, the 2022 Trip Advisor Travellers’ Choice Award, and the Booking.com Traveller Review Award 2022.

The 2022 Global Hilton Owners Conference was value-packed, with many insightful sessions on different segments of the hospitality business, as well as a thorough look into the global economy and the concept of doing well and doing good (ESG).
Following a night of fun that climaxed with a private Meet and Greet with Paris Hilton on the arrival day, the American media personality returned on the first day of the conference to discuss partnerships, after which Hilton’s existing partnerships were showcased.

The conference was a masterclass for hotel operations and management, but it was also a great lifestyle event. Participants would say a lot about the insightful sessions and great speeches, but no one will also forget the amazing culinary experience or how star-studded the event was. You could fill your note with gems from Magic Johnson, whose phenomenal presentation highlighted his business ethics and strategy, or your mobile phone with Katy Perry’s unforgettable performance. Why not? It’s a hospitality event, and hospitality is the nexus of business and lifestyle.
