International Beer Day celebration began in 2017, in Santa Cruz, California with the purpose of celebrating the craft of brewing and recognising the work of brewers who keep giving the world its oldest and most popular alcoholic beverage.
Today, bartenders and others involved in beer making and vending are also celebrated across over 200 cities in the world.
The founders of the Beer Day had three reasons that they declared for starting the day:
– To gather with friends and enjoy the taste of beer.
– To celebrate those responsible for brewing and serving beer.
– To unite the world under the banner of beer, by celebrating the beers of all nations together on a single day.
From 2007 through 2012, International Beer Day was celebrated on August 5. However, after International Beer Day 2012, the founders took a poll of fans and chose to move the holiday to the first Friday in August.
Today is another Beer Day and a perfect day to celebrate your favourite brews.
