Wuse II Ozumba in Pursuit of Fine Dining

No Tour or travel experience is complete without food. Fine dining is a crucial part of hospitality that not all seem to get right, however, some top restaurants in Lagos and Abuja always hit the spot.

The Vue, Wuse, Abuja

If Pan Asian fine dining was a place it would be The Vue. The restaurant puts the capital city on the map of top places to eat as it has perfectly combined Asian Fusion with fine dining in one of Nigeria’s most culturally diverse cities.

Aesthetics aside and high ceilings, The Vue offers an expansive menu that leaves you coming back for more. Perfect for a proposal or dining experience, The Vue’s outdoor sitting area has quite the view.

Zuma Grill, Maitama, Abuja

Fine dining in Abuja is incomplete without Zuma Grill. In the heart of Abuja’s big apple and leading hotel, Transcorp Hilton, lies the legendary Zuma Grill. The soft music greets you first upon entry and you know that you’ve hit the bull’s eye. Decked with brass and copper sculptures, Zuma Grill serves the finest grill menu in all of Abuja. The food is cooked to perfection and there’s no doubt that your pallet is catered for. Medium, well done, or rare, nowhere else prepares steak better. The Zuma taste is unmatched and so is the pasta.

Food meets flame frequently at Zuma Grill, where flambe maintains its position as one of the most impressive table-side presentations, not just at Zuma, but anywhere. Only few things can be as entrancing as a flame dancing across a dish. Flambé came from the French, but the chefs at Zuma have mastered this artful technique of dousing a dish in liquor and setting it aflame. The touch of flavour left behind when the alcohol burns off is one every discerning palate adores, and the culinary performance is one never to forget.

Guests sit in their own world at their table with a waiter on standby to tend to their every need. Every Zuma experience is different, with the chef’s special one to look forward to daily. From 4pm to 10.30pm, this restaurant rocks your world of taste with an array of dishes and fine wine.

R.S.V.P, Victoria Island, Lagos

It doesn’t mean respondez s’il vous plait. RSVP is one restaurant in Lagos that has got fine dining right and has continued to do so for many years. The urban dome-like structure houses, one of the finest menus in Western Nigeria, catering to the diverse taste buds of Lagosians and visitors alike; call it a perfect blend of aesthetics and good food.

RSVP serves a combination of an American, European, and International menu with special diets taken into consideration. Perfect for brunch, lunch, and dinner, RSVP remains a top choice for fine dining.

OX, Victoria Island, Lagos

Maybe it’s the lights or maybe it’s the tone of the room but walking into OX Restaurant and Bar is like walking into a room of heavenly harps. A restaurant and bar with both indoor and outdoor sitting areas, OX is adorned with wall murals that mirror a nordic theme and is great for pictures. OX serves an array of cuisine, including some of your favourite intercontinental dishes from pasta to burgers, steak, and rolls. Portions are one thing not to worry about.

The OX experience lies in the restaurant taking you into its own world upon entry. An additional lounge rests elevated to the roof. The restaurant is perfect for that first date or special dinner occasion and it’s affordable for the most part.

Slow, Victoria Island, Lagos.

Slow Lagos, as it is fondly called, is that restaurant you go to for good food not caring about the price. For Slow, the most exciting part of being at the restaurant is the Customer Service and the menu; though pricey, it’s worth every penny. Slow comes alive both day and night. The light shines through the windows, reflecting on every glass of colour at the Bar which sits at the center of the restaurant. With different themes to each sitting area, Slow is the restaurant you go to when if you wish to leave an impression.
